About Your Guide

Ron Stone has been running, riding, paddling and dog sledding malamutes through the big forests of British Columbia for the past 25 years. His outdoor experience, positive confident demeanor and humorous disposition make him popular to all who travel with him. He has taken part in cattle drives in Kamloops and the Rich Hobson in Vanderhoof; where he was asked back and participated as a wrangler. He has canoed the Bowron Lakes six times, Upper Columbia twice (Canal Flats to Donald Station), Upper Fraser (Tete Jaune Cache to Penny), Athabasca (Jasper to Whitecourt), Nechako River twice (Kenny Dam to Prince George), North Saskatchewan (15km north of Saskatchewan Crossing to Rocky Mountain House), Vermillion - Kootenay rivers (Vermillion Crossing to Fort Steele) and of course his home river the Shuswap, which he tubes, kayaks and canoes every chance he gets.

Ron has been operating ATVs/Quads in the back country trails east of Vernon for the past 15 years. He knows most of the lakes, old cabins and points of interest and will get you there; but more importantly get you back... with the experience of one of those "Special Days" that you will always remember.

As Owner and Operator of Big Bear ATV/Quads, Canoe & Kayak Inc, he possesses a current First Aid Certificate, practices wilderness conservation and the only thing he leaves behind are his footprints, his laughter and the occasional ‘YEE HAW'.
